建寺院及工艺僧伽衣食住行,基本要素之无量殊胜功德利益

整座建筑将塑造成一座富有丰富文化特色及传统建筑结构的寺院。这特别的建筑结构能激发及吸引修行者每年到此朝圣或者长期闭关修行。

 

支持此建设工程所获得的福德浩瀚无边,不可思议,有如一滴水融入海洋,与大海之水无二无别。经典记载:通过支持及给予僧伽所以佛所宣说的教授、恒久的供养食物及提供住宿是累计福德资粮最好的方法。伟大的蒙古喇嘛扎希班智达说:在因果关系的现象中,没有任何方法是比建寺院的福德大。伟大的圣人阿底峡尊者也是如此对钟敦巴说的。

 

在“以正知正念修习佛法”的教典中提到,塑造佛像、建造寺院及为僧伽提供住所及生活所需,能使一个人因造次善业而在此生有幸福变得更幸福做所有的未来世中,恒长的处在幸福快乐中,时时过着正面及高尚品德的生活;此人不只是得到人身来获得一般的享受,而是一持善法之心过生活。纵使过了百年千万亿劫,由造善业所获的福德将不会灭。

 

另一部经典中提到:以业力成熟的角度来说“不管任何人建造寺院,毫无疑问的,此人在未来世中将成为国王。此人将能利益无数的转世者及众生并能与所有众生和平相处。此人将让人心生欢喜,关系和谐,能利益他人,引导究竟解脱,成就无上菩提”。

 

此外,伟大的印度瑜伽士,纳登帕沃说:要为释迦摩尼佛圣洁强大的众生(僧伽)建立一个寺院,我们可以透过话语来鼓励他人帮忙修建或者捐款或是义务帮忙。任何一群帮助建立寺院的人,在其行、住、坐、卧中,不管做任何事情,其福德将是无限增长。

The Immeasurable Benefits of Building a Monastery and Providing the 4 requisites of Food, Clothing, Shelter and Medicine For The Sangha

The entire building will be of a special architectural and cultural heritage that will continue to inspire and benefit all who visit this place for their yearly pilgrimages or retreats for a long time.

The virtue accumulated by those who support this project is inconceivable - like a tiny drop of water becoming inseparable from the great ocean of merits.

It is said in one sutra: “By providing and giving support - Having texts of all Buddha’s teachings and then continue food offerings and providing rooms and beddings to the Sangha” is a great way to accumulate merits. The great Mongolian Lama, Zahi Pandita said “Among causal phenomena, the virtue of establishing monasteries is the greatest. There is no greater than that”. The great saint Atisha said the same to Dromtonpa.

In the Sutra, Mindfulness of the Buddha’s teaching, it is mentioned that making statues, temples and places for Sangha, with bedding and other needs, makes one’s life go from happiness to happiness. All the future lives will always be in happiness, going from virtue to virtue, always positive; not just being born human and having ordinary pleasures, it is not just that - virtue to virtue means having a virtuous life. Even for thousands ten million eons the virtue accumulated by having provided these things will never diminish.

In another sutra, it says: showing the ripening aspect result of the karma, “Anybody who builds a temple, without doubt in the future lives will become king. You will do the work for many transmigratory beings, many sentient beings.” and you are harmonious with all sentient beings.” Everybody is harmonious with you and they will like you. If everybody is harmonious with you, you can benefit them and bring them to enlightenment.

Also, the great Indian Yogi, Nagden Pawo said, “To establish a temple for the mighty Aryan Beings (Sangha) of Shakyamuni Buddha, inspiring and encouraging others with the words to help to build, or donate or give a hand; any group of people who help to build a monastery, even during sleep, while standing up, eating, whatever they do, the merits of building the temple continue to increase immeasurably.

前言——德巴堪布

迟当寺位于四川甘牧州色达县,建寺已有1,300年,历史悠久。迟当寺所处地点优越,风景秀丽,许多 大成就者与高僧大德曾拜访过这个殊胜的地方。在文革时期,寺院里的佛像与文物遭受严重破坏,令人 痛惜。我亲眼目睹当时的情况,决心修建迟当寺以恢复旧日面貌,于是在愿力与念力推动下,着手修建

寺院。但修建迟当寺面对重重困难:由于文革过后,当地的交通极不方便,四周的环境并不如想象的那么美 好,以至部份寺院已无法按照计划进行修建。1980年,我回多芒寺后就将迟当寺转交大成就者突谢上师 管理;直到突谢上师圆寂后,就由玛尼喇嘛班玛德清仁波切担当迟当寺的主持。

目前我得知,玛尼喇嘛班玛德清仁波切肩负起巨大的重任,计划修建迟当寺,这讯息令我高兴不已。

我谨于此,感激玛尼喇嘛班玛德清仁波切发愿增建修行的场所,以广益有情众生。慈悲的心怀,不辞劳 苦的精神,令人钦佩。我更对发心赞助建设工程的居士大德致万二分谢意。我谨于此祝愿资助者长寿无 疆,功德具足与圆满,永远解脱以获得佛的果位。

Foreword by Khenpo Teba

(Teacher of Mani Lama Padma De Qing)

Chi Dang Monastery is 1,300 years old and has a long history. It is situated in Sichuan of Gangsu province in the city of Sertha. Many great practitioners and spiritual masters had visited this beautiful and scenic place.

During the cultural revolution, the Buddha statues and artifacts were destroyed. Seeing this made my heart ached as I had witnessed the incident. This is the reason why I made strong aspirations and determination to repair and rebuild Chi Dang Monastery.

Rebuilding this monastery was not easy as the roads were destroyed and this made travelling difficult.

In 1980, I returned to Durmang Monastery and requested for the great master Tuxie Rinpoche to take care of Chi Dang Monastery until his parinirvana. I am happy to know that it is under the care of Mani Lama Padma De Qing who is now the Abbot of this Monastery.

Mani Lama Padma De Qing has a heavy responsibility to repair and expand the monastery. It is with deepest gratitude that Mani Lama has made strong aspirations to fulfill this precious wish with the utmost motivation to benefit as many sentient beings as possible without even giving a thought to the difficulty of this task. This is an admirable and noble quality.

I am grateful and thankful towards all sponsors who contribute their time, effort and funds to this building project. I wish all of you long life, abundance of merits and liberation from the root cause of suffering and may this meritious deed pave the way to your full awakening.

---玛尼喇嘛班玛德清

我自小就具有帮助众生和不愿众生受苦的慈悲心。在被认证为玛尼喇嘛班玛斯德法王的转世之后,一心一意为弘扬佛法,不舍众生,无分别心,尽管我所能,救化弟子,以利益广大众生。玛尼喇嘛班玛斯德是众生的怙主,是观世音菩萨以人的姿态出现于世间,广度雪域的有情众生,所以所为无非是要利益广大众生。怙主的宏恩大德,伟大志愿,所留下的事情,我连一根汗毛也比不上。承蒙多位高僧大德与大成就者,认证本人是玛尼喇嘛的转世。这个事实令我知道要鞭策自己,更加努力于弘法事业。怙主玛尼喇嘛班玛斯德一生,为利益众生,传扬佛法,这种不屈不挠的精神,值得我钦佩,值得我虚心学习。

 

以往,曾经重建年毛寺,那是我依据释迦摩佛的教法,是我追随许多高僧大德的行为,将那毁坏的寺院重修于增建,并且扩大年毛寺所属的范围。

 

迟当寺历史悠久,文革时遭到严重破坏,只剩下舍利塔。如今,我有责任与义务,为座落于自己家乡的迟当寺复修,并发愿建设藏汉阁,为汉地学密的信众创造一个良好的修学环境,以建立一个藏汉两族人民交流的佛学平台,以广益众生。

 

文革之后,法王如意宝在当地转法轮弘扬佛法,并在当地建设佛学院。当时,德巴堪布不辞劳累,发心肩负起修建迟当寺的责任。之后,由法王如意宝及大成就者共同主持开光仪式。第一天,当法王登上法座时,即见天际间灿烂的太阳缓缓升起,光辉耀眼,情景特殊。见到此种现象,法王即说:“未来的佛法会如朝阳般,在迟当寺发光发亮,让佛陀的教法传遍世间,饶益广大天边的有情。

 

目前要修建迟当寺,但由于寺院内面积狭小,设施不够完善,难于达到理想的要求。平日,僧众都集合在大殿学习佛法与修持,一旦举办法会时,必须于户外另加搭帐篷,以容纳广大的人群。遇到冬天时天寒地冻,实在令来者难于忍受。因此我发愿,在这闻思修圆满的地方增加藏汉阁佛学院、学校、闭关中心及厨房,以方便四种弟子的修行。

 

为了修建迟当寺,我知道光有计划与希望是不够的,需要有先决条件才能做抉择。利他的心如海螺般洁白,护法大德与四众弟子的慈悲心比大海深。期待居士们发广大的信心与慈悲心,为善最乐,发大愿援助迟当寺的修建工程,众志成城,请鼎力支持这项计划,使修建迟当寺

的愿望早日实现。愿大家资助一臂之力,使寺院修建圆满,共修福报。感恩不尽!

Foreword by Mani Lama Padma De Qing

(The Abbot of Chi Dang Monastery)

 

When I was young, I aspire to help others and do not like to see others suffer.

After I was recognised as the reincarnation of the previous great master Mani Lama Padma She De, I have only one motivation and that is to benefit as many sentieng beings as possible with no biasness. With my utmost wish to teach and lead my disciples and countless sentient beings to be free from the root cause of suffering and to awaken to Supreme Happiness.

The previous great master Mani Lama Padma She De was known as The Guardian of all sentient beings. He was the manifestation of Avalokiteshvara in human form to turn the Wheel of Dharma to benefit sentient beings living in the land of snows.

The Guardians noble aspiration was to benefit countless sentient beings and he worked tirelessly throughout his entire lifetime for them. All the virtuous deeds he had done cannot even be measured by all the pores on my body.

My gratitude to many of the great masters who had recognised me as the reincarnation of Mani Lama Padma She De. I wish to emulate and fulfill the supreme example of my predecessors noble footsteps with utmost faith, determination, and diligence to turn the Wheel of Dharma to benefit sentient beings.

I have followed the Lord Buddhas teachings and the great examples of many great masters when I rebuilt and expanded Nian Mao Monastery in Qinghai.

Chi Dang Monastery has a long history of 1,300 years. During the cultural revolution, the monastery was destroyed except for the Stupas which were left unharmed.

Now I have the responsibility and duty to rebuild and expand Chi Dang Monastery which is located in my hometown. I have made strong aspirations to build a 3 storey Prayer Hall Zhang Han Ge encompassing the Mahayana and Vajrayana traditions.

I wish to create a good environment for the Tibetan and Chinese people to learn and interact with one another learning and practising the Buddha Dharma for the benefit of sentient beings.

After the cultural revolution, His Holiness Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche turned the Wheel of Dharma and built Larung Gar Sertha Buddhist Institute which benefitted countless sentient beings. At the same time, Teba Khenpo had made strong aspirations and tirelessly worked to rebuild Chi Dang Monastery.

Many great masters including Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche had came to this monastery to consecrate and officiated the opening ceremony.

On the first day of the opening ceremony, Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche sat on the throne and while gazing into the horizon saw the rising of the Blazing Radiance of the Sun and said: This is an auspicious sign which signifies that Chi Dang Monastery will become a Beacon of Dharmic Light that will radiate far and wide to benefit countless sentient beings.

The current Chi Dang Monastery has limited space and insufficient facilities especially during grand pujas. Therefore, tents have to be erected which is not conducive for the Sanghas and lay practitioners during the harsh cold winter time which is unbearable for many.

This is the reason why I wish to build a Prayer hall, school, retreat cabins and kitchen to benefit the lay practitioners and sangha.

I am aware that it is insufficient to just have a wish and plan. It requires the ripening of all positive conditions for the fulfillment of this building plan. To enable the completion of this project,

one must have the motivation as pure as the white conch shell and as deep as the ocean to benefit others and the wish to engage in virtuous deeds embodying utmost compassion and faith.

Please extend your full support to fulfill our precious wish to complete this building project and benefitting many sentient beings and by this effort, may all of you accumulate immeasurable and unbelievable virtuous merits that would last many lifetimes and may the seed of Buddhahood quickly ripen.

介绍 一座千年古寺——慈当寺

一千三百多年前,文成公主在前往西藏与藏王松赞堪布成亲的途中,路经四川色达县时与同行的一位智者观察那里有座山坡形似白狮,智者认为此山是块 不祥之地将给藏民带来厄运,向公主提议在山的对面建寺院来改善环境,公主立即在当地建造了迟当寺。

 

慈当寺落成后,香火延续了好几百年。后因年久失修,寺院变得破烂不堪,也因常期干旱缺水带给当地居民诸多不便。当时,有位伏藏大师哈龙巴及多在 重修建寺院时,用金刚杵触地,地上涌出泉水,至今依然穿流不息利益无数有情。

 

唐朝年间,在位的皇帝经常恭请西藏高僧到汉地弘法。萨迦派的宗滚秋彭大师到汉地时,路经慈当寺,亲自为当地人加持,令诸天菩萨欢喜赞叹。噶举派大 师第六世噶玛巴帕切,赴汉地传法,曾在迟当寺住宿三个月之久。当大师抵达时,虚空中呈现瑞象,彩虹七彩灿烂,耀眼明亮,迎接大师的光临。

 

宁玛派伏藏大师都竹根香秋多杰及赤供德根敦珠隆巴等数位祖师大德,曾至慈当寺住宿与传法。 在文革时期,寺院遭受严重破坏,有幸的是由文成公主所建造的两座镇寺之佛塔牢牢屹立,安然无损。

 

公元一九八二年,大成就者大堪布德巴上师发大愿,重建与修饰这座已有一千三百多年的千年古寺。古寺历久失修,显得陈旧不堪。大堪布德巴上师亲自 督促建筑工程,对寺院墙上的彩绘,坛城的佛像塑造——燃灯佛、释迦牟尼佛、弥勒佛、莲花生大师,阿弥陀佛、观音菩萨、文殊菩萨、地藏菩萨等八大 尊圣像,一丝不苟,力求尽善尽美。德巴上师为慈当寺的贡献,不言而喻。

 

修建工程于两年内完成,于公元一九八四年由法王晋美彭措如意宝为迟当寺主持开光仪式。法会连续举行三天,高僧大德云集,从四方远来的信众无数, 盛况空前,诸天赞叹。 仪式开始的当天,法王如意宝当场预言:未来佛陀的教法在迟当寺有如万丈高阳普照世间,广利无量有情。法王也鼓励信众常到迟当寺朝拜,将能累积无边 功德,灭除无量罪障。

 

公元一九八六年九月,政府按《宗教活动场所管理条例》批准迟当寺开放,让善信继续供奉,延续香火。目前迟当寺是属于密乘宁玛派的道场。

 

寺院的建立到目前为止,担任慈当寺历代住持都是赫赫有名的高僧大德。目前慈当寺的主持是松赞干布十三世转世活佛玛尼喇嘛,班玛德清仁波切,是观 音菩萨转世的大堪布,大成就者。

 

经历了一千三百多年,古寺承载着传承佛法的重任,有着不朽的历史。目前寺里有百多名僧侣,或修持或闭关,或到喇荣五明佛学院深造与进修。寺里规 定不管老少僧侣皆能遵守以下的寺规:(1)受持清净戒律;(2)严守经教和禅定的修持;(3)恒长的守护自利利他的菩提心愿;(4)追随清净传承的 教导,规定僧众到五明佛学院学习;(5)严守八正道(正见、正思惟、正语、正业、正命、正精进、正念、正定)。僧侣们严守寺规,闻思修行不遗余 力,为末法时期的众生,做出榜样,指引有情走向解脱的光明之道。

 

住持玛尼喇嘛说,凡是到访慈当寺的人都能清除烦恼及业障;若能在寺内闭关,内心即能获得清净与安宁,乃至生起慈悲心及出离心;能生起这样的心境 是与所处的环境有密切的关系。

 

住持玛尼喇嘛仁波切,也收留约五十名孤儿。除了提供三餐之外,也必须让这群丧失依怙的孩子受教育。居住在寺内的小沙弥的生活条件并不理想,在破 旧的教室内上课也没有适当的禅房居住。

 

除此之外,慈当寺院内面积小,无法举行大法会。故当举办法会时,会于户外搭建账蓬,以容纳广大的人群。但由于冬天天气严寒,那种辛苦让参加者难 于忍受;因此玛尼喇嘛建议在该地建立大经堂、学校、闭关中心及厨房,以方便修行,利益众生。

 

为善最乐,但愿大众发慈悲心,鼎立支持这项善举。您的捐款,再加上寺院当局的努力,相得益彰。此慈悲为怀之精神,为诸佛菩萨,龙天护法所欢喜赞叹的。

 

A Brief History of Chi Dang Monastery

In Sichuan, Tibet there is a Chi Dang Monastery which is 1,300 years old. It was built by Princess Wen Cheng who was a manifestation of Mother Tara while on her way to Tibet.

30 Years ago, Great Master Teba Khenpo rebuild the Monastery and personally handmade the holy statues which now reside on the shrine of the Prayer Hall together with many sacred Sutra Texts. These are the 8 Great Bodhisattvas namely Shakyamuni Buddha, Guru Rinpoche, Amitabha Buddha, Chenrezig, Manjusri, Ksitigarbha, Dipankara Buddha, Maitreya Buddha and many others. Numerous holy stupas of 1000 years old were also hidden in the ground by Teba Khenpo during the Cultural Revolution. Many great Masters of great accomplishments and realizations with noble aspirations, compassion and bodhicitta were invited to consecrate all these holy statues and together with His Holiness Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche graced the opening ceremony when the rebuilding of the Monastery was completed.

Though the exterior of Chi Dang Monastery may look simple and without grand facilities, it is in fact a very special Monastery of great Blessings. It houses the sacred thrones of His Holiness Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche, Great Master Teba Khenpo and Tuxie Rinpoche.

At present, it has over 100 sangha of bhikkhus and bhikkunis practising and residing in the Monastery. They are highly accomplished practitioners and khenpos of great bodhicitta of utmost diligence who live simply, uphold pure renunciation, ethics and vows and do not engage in the 8 worldly concerns. Many of them are either in retreat or studying in one of the biggest renowned Buddhist Institute in the world, located in Eastern Tibet - Sertha Buddhist Institute, known locally as Larung Gar, a non-sectarian study centre with about 30,000 Sangha.

To improve the lives of many homeless orphans and elderly folks, His Holiness Mani Lama Padma De Qing expresses his immeasurable love and compassion by taking care and providing them with their education, medical treatments, food and shelter at Chi Dang Monastery.

His Holiness Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche had a deep karmic affinity with Chi Dang Monastery. On the first day of his stay here, as he sat upon the throne, he saw the blazing radiance of the Sun rising in the eastern horizon. His Holiness Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche said that this was an auspicious vision that signified that Chi Dang Monastery in the near future will be a beacon of Dharmic light of all the Buddhas radiating far and wide benefitting countless sentient beings. This vision has now come to fruition.

His Holiness Mani Lama Padma De Qing said Anyone who visits Chi Dang Monastery will be able to purify their karma and afflictions. Due to the blessings of this holy place, anyone who does a retreat here will be able to attain peace and calm within and awaken ones boundless compassion and genuine renunciation. Many great Masters of the Past like The 6th Karmapa, Terchen Lerab Lingpa Rinpoche and His Holiness DeSem Songje and Pasbha Rinpoche of the Sakya Lineage, and Larongpa Ji Dorje and Changdan Dorje Dudjom Rinpoche had visited here and had given their blessings. During the Cultural Revolution, Teba Khenpo had hidden a few stupas of 1000 years old in this place which are still well-protected and intact.

Due to the space constraint, many big pujas cannot be done in the prayer hall and big tents have to be erected in the open area outside the Monastery to accommodate big crowds. The weather here can be harsh and many are not able to withstand the bitter cold. For the benefit of his many disciples, His Holiness Mani Lama Padma De Qing wishes to rebuild and expand the limited spaces of the premises. He too wishes for his disciples from Singapore and Malaysia to be able to go to Chi Dang Monastery to do retreats. These days people live a busy and stressful life and if one is able to go to this sacred place to do a retreat, he or she will be able to reduce their stress level and attain peace within.

His Holiness Mani Lama Padma De Qing plans to rebuild and expand the following areas:

1. A three storey Prayer Hall.

2. A two storey Kitchen.

3. A two storey school.

4. A garden area.

5. Sanghas Residence.

6. Retreat cabins.
