药师佛

药师佛,又称为药师如来、药师琉璃光王如来、大医王佛、医王善逝、 十二愿王。为东方净琉璃世界之教主。据《药师琉璃光如来本愿功德 经》载,日光遍照菩萨与月光遍照菩萨同为药师佛的二大胁士。日光菩 萨与月光菩萨同为无量无数菩萨众之上首,依次递补佛位,悉能持药师 如来之正法宝藏。

药师佛之形像,据药师琉璃光王七佛本愿功德念诵仪轨供养法载,左手

执持药器(又作无价珠),右手结三界印,身着袈裟,结跏趺坐于莲花

台,台下有十二神将。此十二神将誓愿护持药师法门,各率七千药叉眷

属,在各地护佑受持药师佛名号之众生。又一般流传之像为螺发形,

 

左手持药壶,右手结施无畏印(或与愿印),日光、月光二菩萨胁侍左右,并称为药师三尊。

药师佛面相慈善,仪态庄严,身呈蓝色,乌发肉髻,双耳垂肩,身穿佛衣,坦胸露右臂,右手膝前执尊胜诃子果枝,左手脐前捧佛钵,双足跏

趺于莲花宝座中央。身后有光环、祥云、远山。

藏语音:“桑给眉拉”。此佛于过去世行菩萨道时,曾发十二大愿,愿为众生解除疾苦,使具足诸根,趋入解脱,故依此愿而成佛,住净琉璃世界,其国土庄严如极乐国。此佛誓愿不可思议,若有人身患重病,死衰相现,眷属于此人临命终时,昼夜尽心供养礼拜药师佛,读诵药师 如来本愿功德经四十九遍,燃四十九灯,挂四十九天之五色彩幡,其人

得以延生续命。

Medicine Buddha

Medicine Buddha also known as Bhaiajyaguruvaidūryaprabharāja or as Medicine Master or King of Lapis Lazuli Light is the Buddha of healing and medicine.

He made 12 great vows and upon awakening to Buddhahood, he became the Buddha of the Eastern Realm of Vaiduryanirbhasa or “Pure Lapis Lazuli”.

Medicine Buddha is typically depicted as wearing the three robes of a Buddhist monk. He is seated down and holding a lapiscoloured jar of medicine nectar in his left hand and the right resting on his right knee, holding the stem of the Aruna fruit or Myrobalan between his thumb and forefinger.

The practice of Medicine Buddha, the Supreme healer and reciting his mantra is not only a very powerful method for healing and increasing healing powers both for oneself and others, but also for purification of negative karma, overcoming the inner sickness of attachment, hatred and ignorance decreasing physical and mental illness and suffering.

地藏王菩萨

 

地藏菩萨,或称地藏王菩萨。因其“安忍不动如大地,静虑深密如秘藏”, 故名地藏。为佛教四大菩萨之一,与观音、文殊、普贤一起,深受世人敬 仰。以其“久远劫来屡发弘愿”,故被尊称为大愿地藏王菩萨。

 

地藏菩萨乃八大菩萨之一,其道场在安徽省池州市九华山是中国佛教四大名山之一。他立了个宏愿:“地狱不空,誓不成佛!”“我不入地狱,谁入地狱!”

 

按佛教说法,地藏菩萨受释迦牟尼佛的托咐,在释迦寂灭后未来佛弥勒降生 前这一段无佛世界里,担当起教化六道众生的重任,其地位相当于“代理 佛”。由于地藏菩萨在无佛的“五浊恶世”中济渡众生,为了让众生能深信因果,归依三宝,所以显示出家僧人相。

 

藏者,具有秘密包容含育等义。指地藏菩萨处于甚深静虑之中,能够含育化导一切众生止于至善。世有秘密库藏,蕴藏许多金银财宝,则能济诸贫乏,利益人寰。喻菩萨具有如来三德秘藏,无量妙法,则能救脱无数众生,咸登觉岸。

 

地藏菩萨根据秽土众生恶习根深,多造罪业的特点,在《地藏菩萨本愿经》里,着重宣传因果报应说,并从业感差别的角度,列举了二十三种因果报应,说明如是因必感如是果,业感缘起、自作自受的道理。在由因感果的问题上,说得如此具体和入理,在其它经典里,尚不多见。地藏菩萨的用意,是将因果关系说清楚,使人们都能对自己的思想和言行负责,由少造恶业,到不造恶业,这对个人和社会来说,都有着积极意义。

Ksitigarbha

Ksitigarbha is also known as The Earth-Treasury Bodhisattva. His Tibetan name is Sa-E Nyingpo and his Chinese name is Di Zang Wang Pusa. He is a very popular Bodhisattva of the Mahayana tradition and is usually depicted as a monk with a nimbus around his shaved head, holding a staff to which is used to alert insects and small animals of his approach so that he will not accidentally harm them as well as to force open the gates of hell and a wish-fulfilling jewel to light up the darkness.

In the Chinese tradition, Ksitigarbha sometimes is seen wearing a crown depicting the Five Dhyani Buddhas, worn by Tibetan and Chinese monks in Tantric rituals.

Ksitigarbha is well-known for his vow not to achieve Buddhahood until all hells are emptied.

He is often regarded as the bodhisattva of hell beings, as well as the guardian of children and patron deity of deceased children and aborted foetuses.

In the Sutra of the Great Vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva” as spoken by the Buddha to the beings in the Heaven of the Thirtythree Deities as a mark of gratitude and remembrance for his beloved mother, Mayadevi. The sutra states that Ksitigarbha practiced filial piety as a mortal which eventually led to his making great vows to liberate all sentient beings.
